The Greyhound.jpeg

Gareth, Kate and young daughter Seren are now the current owners of the Greyhound which is being managed by the very charismatic Alistair!

This is the second pub/restaurant for the family following on from the successful Orange Tree in Sawbridgeworth which has won the Open Table Diners Choice award every month since taking over back in April 2019 and has recently been awarded the Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award 2020 which ranks it in the top 10% in the world based on customer ratings.

With Gareth having been a Chef for 25 years, food is his passion and we are very much looking forward to bringing something new over to The Greyhound.

Alongside a varied and well stocked bar, we will be offering an extensive Grill & Fish menu to compliment our Great British Menu which together combines the best of modern fine dining and delicious takes on Great British pub classics. In addition to this, we will be running a specials board as well as Bar Tapas dishes, perfect to compliment drinks in the bar with.

All of the food is prepared fresh in house to Gareth’s own recipes and daily trips to the butchers and fresh deliveries from trusted quality suppliers every day, mean that everything on your plate is fresh, homemade and to the highest possible standard.

The quality of our food is matched by locally brewed ales from McMullens brewery just down the road in Hertford. As well as McMullens regular ales, we also stock Peroni, Stella, Fosters, Symonds Cider and Guinness as well as an extensive wine list with many choices available by the glass or bottle.

The philosophy at the Greyhound is simple – good honest fresh food, strong flavours all beautifully presented. With carefully considered drinks and friendly staff this is a place where you can be comfy, relaxed, enthused, inspired, welcomed and looked-after.

We are both a family friendly and dog friendly establishment and we hope we can bring a little something for everyone. We have a range of board games available to keep our younger customers entertained and we plan to show sporting events on the bar screens.

Do pop in and see us sometime as we would love to meet you all.
